Open University Students Getting Younger

The Open University has announced its highest ever intake of students under the age of 25.

Around a quarter of students who enrolled on distance learning courses with the OU last year were under 25 – the highest proportion in its history. It’s thought that the threat of rising tuition fees along with last year’s shortage of university places is encouraging students to opt for cheaper and more flexible distance learning courses over traditional university education.
