The Institute of Export Diploma in International Trade is an advanced import and export training course, and examines the ability of the student to manage the broader managerial aspects of international trade and make the right decisions when problems arise. The IoE Level 5 export course covers a range of topics including international logistics and purchasing, international marketing strategy and management of international trade.
The IoE Level 5 import/export training course covers a range of import/export topics including international logistics and purchasing, international marketing strategy and management of international trade. On completion, students will be eligible for Graduate Membership of the Institute of Export, gaining MIEx (Grad) status.

Who is this course for?
This course is designed for those with experience of working in an international trade environment.

How does the course work?
Study Time:
You can study at a pace to suit you. Your tutor will create a timetable for you, and will set you work and assignments to complete each week.
If you can spend around 3 hours a week studying, you should be able to complete the course in 30 months. If you can spend more time studying than that, you could fast-track and complete the course faster.
Course Structure:
The course is made up of four compulsory units.
Assessments
The course is assessed by continual assessments, which are carried out by the Institute three times a year in April, August and December. Students receive assessment questions directly from the Institute and submit two 1500 word essays per module over a 6-week period.

You will receive the Institute of Export Level 5 Diploma in International Trade.

This module addresses the roles of logistics and purchasing in relation to global trade, covering the importance of the two disciplines in an international context and their position in maximising the effectiveness of an organisation's marketing and distribution strategy. On completion of the module, students will have developed an understanding of the management of transport, warehousing, inventory and materials handling, and the strategic aspects of developing logistics processes and systems. The sourcing of products and materials on a global scale is covered, as well as the procedures necessary to implement and control a global sourcing policy.

This module addresses the development of marketing strategies and plans including market selection, market entry, the marketing mix and some of the organisational aspects relating to international marketing.

This module is designed to develop strategic management knowledge for managers involved in international trade. On completion of this module the successful student will be able to use appropriate techniques of corporate strategy and management in an international context, identify appropriate supply strategies and structures, set up effective structures for corporate management, explain to colleagues the importance of international financial strategies and pricing policies, recommend suitable sources of trade finance in an international context, manage the risks related to multi currency trading and suggest appropriate methods to establish effective business development.

This module covers advanced aspects of global trading, including international trade in the global marketplace, the practice of global trading and company policy in international trade.
