Award/Certificate/Diploma in First Line Management

The ILM Level 3 is a first line management course which gives an introduction to the basic skills, knowledge, and understanding required by today's first line manager. The course is designed for first line managers looking to develop a wide range of management and leadership skills suitable for their role. The qualification also develops both understanding and application of leadership skills through the use of action learning.

There are three ILM first line management qualifications at Level 3; the Award and Certificate in First Line Management.

Who is this course for?
The course is designed for practising or aspiring supervisors or first line managers.

How does the course work?

Study Time:

You can study at a pace to suit you. Your tutor will create a timetable for you, and will set you work and assignments to complete each week.

If you can spend around 3 hours a week studying, you should be able to complete the course in 6 months for the Award, 18 months for the Certificate or 30 months for the Diploma. If you can spend more time studying than that, you could fast-track and complete the course faster.

Course Structure:

To gain the Award, you must complete the first Compulsory unit and then add another 3 credits from the Optional units. To gain the Certificate, you must complete the first four Compulsory units and then add another 13 credits from the Optional units. To gain the Diploma, you must complete all of the Compulsory units and then add another 24 credits from the Optional units.

Assessments

Assessment is normally via practical work-based assignments.

Qualification Received:

You will receive the Institute of Leadership and Management Level 3 Award, Certificate or Diploma in First Line Management.
