Diploma in Operations Management

The Institute of Operations Management Diploma in Operations Management aims to provide students with detailed and specific coverage of the various elements of supply chain, production and inventory management. It aims to equip individuals with the knowledge and skills of operations management to improve business performance within the global environment. It also addresses the internal and external factors which influence operational efficiency and examines the wider context of business strategy and competitive advantage.

On completion of the IOM Diploma in Operations Management, students will be eligible for full membership of the Institute of Operations Management.

The course has led me to challenge the way my department works, asking many fundamental questions that could change and benefit our strategic and operational focus.

How does the course work?

Study Time:

You can study at a pace to suit you. Your tutor will create a timetable for you, and will set you work and assignments to complete each week.

If you can spend around 3 hours a week studying, you should be able to complete the course in 30 months. If you can spend more time studying than that, you could fast-track and complete the course faster.

Course Structure:

The course is made up of eight compulsory units and a final project.

Assessments

Four units are assessed by a three hour written exam for each unit. The other four units are assessed by a 3000 word assignment for each unit. There is also a 5000 word "final project" to be completed.

Qualification Received:

You will receive the Institute of Operations Management Level 5 Diploma in Operations Management.
