Firstly, before we announce the winners of this year’s awards, we would like to
extend our congratulations to all who were nominated, well done! Here goes…
‘Throughout his studies with Distance Learning College and Training Pete has proven to be both an enthusiastic and exemplary student. His hard work, dedication and commitment to the course has enabled Pete to achieve a highly regarded Professional Qualification to take forward throughout his career’
Jacky Stansfield, Business Training and Development Manager at Distance Learning College and Training says ‘Pete has been a true ambassador for the IoSCM qualification highlighting the benefits of distance learning when conducting a busy career and home life. I’m delighted his success is to be rewarded by achieving the Student of the Year Award’
‘INEOS ChlorVinyls has invested in the development of 11 members of staff throughout their ILM Certificate in Team Leading, focussing on areas such as Developing the Work Team, Maintaining a Healthy and Safe Work Environment and Leading your Work Team. The support of their organisation has enabled all 11 students to flourish and develop their skills within an internationally recognised qualification’
Brian Turner INEOS ChlorVinyls Training Manager explains ‘Our Team Leader development centres mainly on employees who operate a shift pattern and as such, it is extremely difficult to bring all of the candidates together to run traditional training courses. It is for this reason that we have undertaken a Distance Learning approach that allows the candidates to study around their working patterns. As a business operating in a manufacturing sector that demands the highest level of safety we feel that it is important to develop our staff with the skills recognised at a national level. These skills, coupled with the technical competence of operating complex manufacturing plants means that we have the best people ensuring a safe and productive business.
MCM has supported their student throughout their Professional Qualification – committed to developing their key talent, they have invested in a program which enables progression within their organisation.
Ahmed Salem Ouldlab of MCM confirms this ‘MCM have been very supportive of me, then have shown an interest and provided me with the support I need in order to be successful’
We are delighted that North Lanarkshire Council have been awarded the Public Sector Organisation of the Year – having seen the benefits to the organisation of having trained and qualified members of staff in the areas of Procurement, Purchasing and Supply they have invested in staff development. Graeme Gamble, studying CIPS with Distance Learning College and Training is grateful for the support his employer has provided, agreeing that ‘North Lanarkshire Council have given me the opportunity to achieve a formal procurement qualification, giving me assistance from the Council’s Corporate Procurement Team and Business Manager.’
Awarded to those students who have demonstrated an
excellent attitude and commitment to their studies
The final awards will take place at the end of March. Thank you to everyone who nominated.
