Distance Learning College and Training can announce with great pride that we were awarded the Silver Award for 2017 by the RFCA Defence Employer Engagement Office.
The RFCA works to endorse employing a reservists and armed forces personnel. Not only because they are a loyal, organised, hardworking addition to any organisation, but because employers are potentially gaining a highly skilled individual also. One way in which they do this is the Employer Recognition Scheme.
Distance Learning College and Training were awarded the Silver recognition for 2017 due to the excellent provision of flexible distance learning courses in an array of subjects. From online ELCAS courses in logistics, human resources, and the management of the supply chain, our aim is to provide training to individuals who aren’t able to commit to full time education.
Prior to being awarded Silver, we proudly displayed our Bronze Award and the Armed Forces Covenant logo across our website and have a dedicated page devoted to serving veterans of the Armed Forces, promoting the use of the Enhanced Learning Credits and our ELCAS courses. We also employ both Reservists and ex-service personnel and have strong links with Careers Transition Partnership.
Beyond the ERS, the RFCA offer advice and support on employing members of the Armed Forces community, and enable organisations to develop a mutually beneficial working relationship with the MOD. Particularly with employers and those organisations who want to partner with defence, we offer can offer guidance and support on.
Jacky Stansfield Smith was delighted to accept the Award, presented at Redworth Hall, County Durham.
“It was an honour to be recognised for our commitment to our Armed Forces Reservists and Veterans”, said Jacky.
