ELCAS Accountancy Training Course

Leaving the Armed Forces can be a daunting and challenging experience, but with a variety of ELCAS Accountancy courses available at Distance Learning College and Training (DLC), taking the next step in your career doesn’t have to be tough.

The Enhanced Learning Credits Administration Services (ELCAS) scheme has been established to help you take those next steps with financial support. You can use your ELCAS credits to progress in a wide range of directions, from accountancy to management.

At DLC we offer a range of accredited AAT Accountancy courses, so you can invest your credits wisely and move smoothly into an exciting new career.

Why use your ELCAS credits on Accountancy qualifications?

Accountancy is a varied and interesting profession in which to start a new career. Qualified accountants are always in demand, and are an essential part of all types of business, from smaller companies to large, multinational corporations.

The profession offers a high degree of job security, as you provide essential work and take on high levels of responsibility. If you like travel, a career in accountancy can help you find employment in businesses all over the world.

There are a number of different roles within the field that you can choose from, progressing from bookkeeping and accounts assistant positions through to technician and management levels. Accountancy qualifications can also be a useful asset if you are aiming to progress in other areas of business management.

There are two main types of accountancy (management accountancy and financial accountancy), with specialisms in audit, corporate finance, tax and more.

Applying your military experience to an ELCAS Accountancy course

To progress with a career in accountancy, you will need to be highly analytical and organised, with a real eye for detail. If you can think of times during your military career when you have demonstrated these traits, then accountancy could be a good match for you.

Many of our courses offer the option to take your military experience into account as part of your qualification, so be sure to ask our team for advice on which course will suit your needs.

Our range of ELCAS Accountancy courses

At DLC we accept ELCAS credits on a range of accountancy qualifications, allowing you to choose the course that’s right for you. Successfully completing one of these courses will gain you an Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) qualification, which is the internationally-recognised professional membership body for accountancy.

You could choose to redeem your credits on the AAT Advanced Certificate in Bookkeeping, the AAT Advanced Diploma in Accounting or the AAT Professional Diploma in Accounting.

At DLC, we also offer ELCAS courses aligned with a range of other professions, including Management, Human Resources and Logistics, so you can combine our Accountancy qualifications with other relevant courses to support your future career plans.
